Mix Fix

Sharpen your DJ skills with Mix Fix. One to one tuition with our tutors who are veterans of the club scene in North Wales.

The sessions will take place in the real world setting of a nightclub, before it opens it’s doors to the public ahead of High Grade Grooves & Outside The Box’s weekly Saturday night residency at Cube Nightclub.

Our tutors will share their knowledge and experience by teaching you about all aspects of DJing including finding and selecting relevant music, mastering the equipment, reading the crowd, finding gigs and more, offering insight only gained throughout years in the industry.

As well as learning and improving your DJ skills, the outcome of these sessions could eventually result in a DJ set in front of a crowd at High Grade Grooves & Outside The Box.

Eligibility

Must be between 18-25 year old
Preference given to DJ’s who have some experience but want to step up from DJing at home to DJing at events
Access to own equipment for practising is desirable (No matter how basic set up may be)

Meet the Tutors

Endaf

Founder of High Grade Events Limited including brands such as High Grade Grooves & Bwgi, Endaf has been successfully running events for over 10 years . His events brands are some of the most established in North Wales. In addition to hosting events, High Grade Grooves has since expanded to become a record label, championing electronic music made in Wales.

As well as running his business Endaf has established himself as one of the most influential Welsh Electronic Artists with 2x Track of the Week (BBC Radio Cymru) SYNCs on FAW and performances at venues/events such as BBC Maida Vale Studios, BAFTA Cymru Afterparty, Gottwood Festival, Promenaden Eck Berlin, Welsh Sports Awards.

Also with a background of helping young people on a variety of creative projects for orginisations such as Urdd, Maes B, Galeri, Pontio, Gwallgofiad, Fran Wen as well as leading his own projects funded by The Artis Council of Wales, Ty Cerdd & Eos.

Toby O’Connor

Music Producer, Singer & Song Writer / Record Label founder / DJ & Event Promoter.

Throughout 2020/21 Toby was provided with the much-needed time to delve deep into music and put together many songs, all varying in genre. Diving into disco, funk, soul, house and hip hop, his style quickly caught the eye of international record labels with 2 new albums landing in 2022.

The last two years have been exciting for Toby, breaking through into the realms of music production and utilising his talents for playing instruments. During lockdown, the time was utilised to set up a new North Wales based record label – Drippin’ in Disco. The label has delivered releases from both local & international talent with more to come in 2022.

Toby’s releases to date include; Tropical Disco Records, Hot Digits Music, Springbok, Super Spicy Records & many more.

Alongside running a weekly club night & events for the last 9 years, Toby has recently been featured on BBC Radio Wales with Bethan Elfyn as well as on Open Tempo FM (DiscoDaze) with Stephen Richards.
